House League
Rules for House League
Summary
The house league rules are based on the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS, available online) rules with the following local changes.
- All players are in the batting order (continuous batting); no DH
- Each player must play a minimum of two innings in the field
- No head first slides, no raising of cleats, no collisions
- 10 run rule after 4 innings
- Rainout is complete if losing team has batted four times
- Home manager determines rainout (afternoon of game) and notifies umpire and opposing coach. Umpire determines rainout once both teams are at the field.
- Umpires will call balks, but are usually lenient at age 13
- Umpire will call game due to darkness. The game is complete if losing team has batted four times.
- May run for the pitcher or catcher at any time. Player must have finished the previous defensive half inning as pitcher or catcher.
- All other rules consistent with high school baseball
